The behavioral disease research center is established with the goal of expanding knowledge on decreased damage of behavioral diseases and promotion of research infrastructures with an emphasis on prevention, epidemiology, as well as cultural-social and psychological aspects of HIV/AIDS and related research. In addition, the center focuses on the prevention of drug abuse, expansion of national, regional and international relations for scientific exchanges, intersectoral research and cooperation in national development programs.
Objectives:
• Assessing programs for the prevention, treatment and decrease of damage caused by behavioral diseases
• Providing proper information and up-to-date knowledge to experts and authorities to solve healthcare issues related to behavioral diseases
• Directing and cooperating with all enthusiastic students of the university to promote the level of student studies and theses
• Laying the foundation for cooperation between faculty members of all educational departments inside and outside the university and performing joint projects with other domestic and international academic and research centers
• Establishing inter-organizational coordination in conducting research on behavioral diseases in the region
• Creating a field to train researchers in the prevention, treatment and counseling of behavioral diseases
• Forming databases and recording the data related to behavioral diseases systematically and proportional to the center’s goals
• Conducting lab studies on blood of HIV-positive patients to evaluate the effect of prescribed drugs
